Instructions:
Step 1: Enter your Non-Maryland Income in the first box. Step 2: Enter your filing status and your Estimated Federal Adjusted Gross Income from 2024. If you do not know your 2024 FAGI then use the amount from 2023. Step 3: In the box labeled [Additions], enter any items that Maryland taxes that is not included in your federal Adjusted Gross Income. Step 4: In the box labeled [Subtractions], enter any items that Maryland allows you to subtract that is taxed on your federal return. Do not include the Non-Maryland Income that you have entered in the first box. Step 5: Enter your Standard Deduction or the amount of your itemized deductions that are attributable to Maryland. Step 6: Enter one exemption for yourself (or enter 2 if you will be filing a joint return). Under [Additional Exemptions], you may enter an additional exemption for yourself if you are age 65 or over, plus an additional exemption for your spouse if age 65 or over. Additional exemptions are also allowed if you (or your spouse on a joint return) is legally blind. Step 7: Enter the number of exemptions that you will be claiming for dependents. You may also claim an additional exemption if they are 65 or older. Step 8: Enter the amount of tax that you have had withheld or have previously paid. You may also enter an amount for any Maryland Business tax credits for which you are entitled. Select the [Submit] button and your nonresident tax will be calculated. We encourage you to go to our iFile program where you may submit your estimated tax payments online. You may also schedule your future payments; or you may use Form PV to make your estimated tax payment by mail. If you electronically file and pay your estimated tax, do not use Form PV.
